Detectives) is a non-profit
study group dedicated to
learning lighting culture
through practical methods,
mainly by engaging in fieldwork.
It was established in 1990 with
interested individuals working
in a small lighting design firm
in Tokyo.

developing economies after World
War II, the Japanese cities
became brighter and brighter,
